In the famous fairytale by the Brothers Grimm, Sleeping Beauty was cursed by a fairy to fall into a deep sleep of a hundred years if she should ever prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel.

Well, we have our very own Spinner, Val Wateridge, who will be joining us for the Vintage Fayre to demonstrate how yarn is spun from natural fibres. But don’t worry - Val isn’t likely to put a curse on you, and our health and safety guidelines mean there’s no chance of you pricking your finger and falling asleep for a hundred years!
